Abstract:

Introduction: Given the significant impact of the early developmental period on the formation of EGO strength, this study aimed to investigate the predictive role of Attachment styles in relation to EGO strength and its subscales, including hope, will, purpose, competence, fidelity, love, care, and wisdom. Method: This research employs a descriptive correlation methodology. The participants included 250 students from Tehran University and Shahed University who were selected using the convenience sampling method. The Collins and Reid Attachment Style Questionnaires and Markstrom's Ego Strength Questionnaire were used to collect data. Data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. Result: The correlation results indicate a significant relationship between Attachment styles and EGO strength. Furthermore, the multiple regression analysis reveals that this model can predict 33. 3% of the variance in EGO strength. The prediction results for the subscales and percentage of change variance are as follows: Hope: 7. 30, Will: 9. 23, Purpose: 31, Competence: 3. 25, Fidelity: 9. 13, Love: 3, Care: 9, Wisdom: 5. 26. Discussion and Conclusion: The results indicate that the secure Attachment style positively predicts EGO strength and its subscales, while the avoidant and Anxious Attachment styles negatively predict EGO strength and its subscales. These findings demonstrate the significance of secure Attachment in predicting ego strength.

Abstract:

The current research was conducted with the aim of the effect of Attachment style on emotion regulation with the mediating role of identity style. The research method was descriptive and structural equation analysis. The statistical population of the research was all second year high school students of Kashan city in the academic year of 1400-1401, of which 500 people were selected by random cluster method. Data were collected based on three questionnaires: Gross & Jan (2003) Emotional Regulation Inventory, Identity Style Scale (6G-ISI) and Collins and Reid (1990) Attachment Style Questionnaire. The data are obtained by structural equation modeling and using Laserl 8.8 and 26 spss software. analyzed. Based on the results, secure Attachment style at a significance level of 0.01, avoidant Attachment style at a significance level of 0.05, and ambivalent Attachment style at a significance level of 0.01 directly predicted emotion regulation. Among the three Attachments, secure Attachment style predicted emotion regulation at a significant level of 0.01, with the mediation of identity styles. Informational identity style at a significance level of 0.01, confused identity style at a significance level of 0.05 directly predicted emotion regulation. Among the three Attachments, only the secure Attachment style at a significance level of 0.01 had a significant role in predicting the normative identity style. According to the results of this study, emotion regulation is one of the most important constructs of educational psychology and an important factor in determining mental health and successful performance. It is in education that the factors affecting emotion regulation and its antecedents should be identified. Planning for training and holding educational workshops in this field in schools is suggested for students.

Abstract:

Background and Objectives: Religion and spiritual attitudes are among the important factors affecting psychological and social injuries because spirituality influences people’s attitudes, cognition, and behavior. The present study aimed to investigate the mediating role of impulsivity in the relationship between Anxious Attachment and religious attitude with the tendency to addiction among university students. Methods: This descriptive-correlational study employed structural equation modeling (SEM). The study population consisted of all students at the Islamic Azad University of Ahvaz, Iran, of whom 300 were selected as the sample using convenience sampling. All participants completed the addiction potential scale (APS), experiences in close relationships (ECR) scale, religious attitude scale, and Dickman impulsivity inventory (DII). The data were statistically analyzed using SEM. Results: According to the results, there was a significant relationship between Anxious Attachment with impulsivity (P=0.012) and the tendency to addiction (P=0.001). Moreover, there was a negative relationship between religious attitudes with impulsivity (P=0.001) and the tendency to addiction (P=0.001). There was a positive relationship between impulsivity and the tendency to addiction in the students (P=0.001). The results also showed that impulsivity mediates the relationships between Anxious Attachment and religious attitudes with the tendency to addiction (P=0.001). Conclusion: The results showed that the proposed model fitted the data well. Accordingly, the tendency of young people to addiction can be reduced by training families and university students in safe Attachment styles, spiritual teachings, self-restraint, and control of impulses.

Abstract:

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of Attachment styles in the speed of information processing. This study was a comparative type. From Najaf Abad high school students, 300 people by multi-stage cluster method were selected and completed Attachment styles scale (Collins and Read, 1990). In the next step, based on entry criteria and extreme scores of Attachment style questionnaire’ s distribution three groups of 15 subjects (Anxious ambivalent, avoidant and secure) were selected and evaluated via Speed-of-processing tests Zahlen-Verbindungs-Test and Coding Test (KDT). The end results analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance and post hoc tests. The results of multivariate analysis of variance and post hoc tests showed that information processing time of students have anxiety/avoidance Attachment style is more than students with avoidant and secure Attachment style. Also, the performance of students with secure Attachment styles is better than students with Attachment anxiety/avoidance and ambivalent. Based on the findings of this study, it can be said that Attachment styles have pivotal role in cognitive processes.
